The Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Rijeka (EFRI) continue to respond to increasingly competitive and challenging environment in which we live and work.
The Faculty is a modern institution which performs undergraduate, graduate and various post-graduate study programmes in the field of Economics and Business. Since 2011 it offers an International Business - study programme taught in English (undergraduate and graduate study) and since the academic year 2015/2016 Enterpreneurship - online learning study programme (graduate study).
The Faculty is one of University's most important and active components, with more than 1,800 students.
The Faculty of Economics and Business in Rijeka was among to first to introduce scientifically based contents, courses and research work in Croatia, found-ed on the theory and practice of Economic association and Integration of countries and their respective economies. The Faculty collaborate with eminent foreign universities, both in the field of research and organization of joint conferences, student exchange, summer schools and other. Faculty participated in various international projects, applying for funds within IPA, ESF, FP7, SEE Transnational and lifelong learning programmes, especially within the European LLP Jean Monnet programmes, and are a member of AACSB, EFMD, working hard to get EFMD, EQUIS and AACSB accreditations. Since 1971 we are continuously publishing a scientific journal, abstracted and indexed in WoSCC, EconLit, Scopus and other relevant databases.
The life of students
The life of the students at the Faculty is colourful and exciting. Student conferences, case study challenges and workshops are organized regularly by the Carrer Centre of the Faculty. The Faculty’s study programmes lifelong learning programmes, the mobility within the international academic community, the extracurricular activities as well as the Faculty’s collaboration with the industry provides for students’ professional growth and development and their successful employment and competitiveness in a dynamic economic environment. The Faculty fosters the development of its employees’ potentials, rational utilization of material resources, continuous quality assurance and enhancement of international competitiveness of its teaching and scientific activities.
Mission & Vision
The mission of the Faculty is by educating and developing entrepreneurially oriented and socially responsible regional leaders, managers and researchers, and by cooperating with the local community, to contribute to social development and science.
The vision encompasses integration into the European area of higher education and European research area accompanied by overwhelming support for development of the economy. The Faculty shall be an institution which will continuously evolve and enhance its study programmes, research and its staff.
